Cynthia Stamper GraffCynthia Stamper Graff is President and CEO of Lindora, Inc., the largest multi-site medical weight control system in the United States. A nationally recognized expert in the field of weight management, she has been actively involved in the growth and development of Lindora since 1988. Graff, a leader in integrating technology into the treatment of obesity, has been instrumental in developing Lindora's clinical program as well as the online and by-phone options. For three consecutive years, Lindora has been ranked one the "Top 500 Women Owned Businesses in America" by Working Woman magazine.

Graff is the author of Lean for Life Phase One: Weight Loss (with Jerry Holderman), Lean for Life Phase Two: Lifetime Solutions, and bodyPRIDE (with Janet Eastman and Marc C. Smith). She is also the founder of the Lean for Life Foundation, a nonprofit organization that promotes obesity research and educational programs, and funds weight control services to selected low-income, morbidly obese men, women, and children.
An Orange County Business Journal Women In Business award winner, Graff is a national Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award nominee. She has been a member of the Young Presidents Organization since 1993 and a member of Adaptive Business Leaders since 1998.

Graff holds a law degree from York University in Toronto, and a B.S. in business finance from California State University-Long Beach. She resides in Newport Beach, California.

Marilyn PlatfootMarilyn Platfoot, Lindora's Chief Operating Officer, has over 25 years of retail experience in operations management of over 250 retail stores. In addition, she developed and opened over 150 "store within stores" across the country.

Before Lindora, she most recently held the position of Executive Vice President of Retail Operations and Joint Ventures for FAO, Inc., which included FAO Schwarz, Zany Brainy, and The Right Start. She developed and launched "Store Within a Store" within Saks Fifth Avenue and Saks Department Store Group.

Marilyn held additional positions at The Right Start, including Executive VP, with responsibilities of Retail Operations, Merchandising, Marketing, Human Resources, Training, and Real Estate. Her personal skills and expertise in merchandising, financial planning, information systems, marketing, human resources, real estate, store operations, and negotiating partnerships has prepared Marilyn well for her current role with Lindora.

Sabina M. KobylinskiSabina M. Kobylinski, D.O. is Lindora's Medical Advisor. She graduated from the University of Osteopathic Medicine in Des Moines, IA and completed her residency and internship at the Naval Hospital of Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, CA. Board certified in Family Practice, this military veteran served as Lieutenant Commander of the Medical Corps, United States Navy for 7 years. After serving her country, Dr. Kobylinski worked for FHP, Incorporated as a Staff Physician and as the head of the Family Practice Department of the Twentynine Palms Naval Hospital. Several years ago, she established and grew a successful private practice specializing in Family Medicine. Dr. Kobylinski maintained her practice, which was mainly focused on disease prevention, for 7 years.

The pandemic of obesity presents unique challenges in the field of disease prevention. Dr. Kobylinski's expertise in disease prevention makes her the ideal fit to lead Lindora's Medical staff. She is a member of the the Osteopathic Physicians Society of Southern California and of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians. She is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice.

She volunteers her time and skills as a physician to various charitable causes. She is married and has a daughter.

George L. BlackburnGeorge L. Blackburn, M.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Blackburn serves as the S. Daniel Abraham Associate Professor of Nutrition, Associate Director of the Division of Nutrition, at Harvard Medical School. He is the Chief of the Nutrition/Metabolism Laboratory, and Director of the Center for the Study of Nutrition Medicine, which are affiliated with the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts.

He received his medical degree from the University of Kansas in 1965 and completed his internship and residency at Boston City Hospital, Harvard Medical School. In 1973, he obtained his doctorate in nutritional biochemistry from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Dr. Blackburn's research investigates the most complex issues dealing with nutrition and health, and has published widely on various aspects of nutrition, medicine, and metabolism.

He has been given numerous awards for his distinguished career in nutrition, and is on the board of Advisors for the American Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ASPEN) of which he served as president; he was also President of the American Society for Clinical Nutrition and a member of numerous other medical societies. He is a member of the board of the American Obesity Association and is a fellow of the American College of Surgery.

Marshall B. Stamper, M.D.
Dr. Stamper is a pioneer in the study of obesity and is the founder of Lindora, California's largest weight management organization. A graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Medicine, he established a general medical practice in California, where he became interested in the study of obesity and became one of the first physicians to specialize in bariatrics, the treatment of obesity.


Alan A. SteigrodAlan A. Steigrod, age 67, has been an advisor to the Board of Directors since 1996. Since 1996 Mr. Steigrod has served as Managing Director of Newport HealthCare Ventures, a venture capital and consulting firm. From March 1993 until November 1995, Mr. Steigrod served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Cortex Pharmaceuticals Inc. From February 1991 until February 1993, Mr. Steigrod was a management consultant. From March 1981 until February 1991, Mr. Steigrod served as Executive Vice President of Marketing/Sales of Glaxo Inc., a pharmaceutical corporation. Mr. Steigrod also serves as a director of NeoRx Corporation, Lorus Therapeutics Inc., and Sepracor, Inc.

Hohn P. Foreyt, Ph.D.John P. Foreyt, Ph.D.
The Director of the Behavioral Medicine Research Center at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, Dr. Foreyt is co-author of the best selling book The Living Heart Diet and has written thirteen other books.  He has also written more that 200 scientific articles which have been published in such journals as The Journal of the American Medical Association, The New England Journal of Medicine, The Lancet, and the Journal of American Dietetic Association.  Dr. Foreyt is a member of the National Institutes of Health's National Task Force on the Prevention and Treatment of Obesity and the American Obesity Association's Advisory Council.

Ellen McGrath, Ph.DEllen McGrath, Ph.D.
Dr. McGrath is an internationally known expert on coaching women and men in achieving success in their personal and professional lives.  A clinical psychologist with more than 25 years experience, she is the author of the nationally acclaimed book, When Feeling Bad is Good. She has chaired the American Psychological Association National Task Force on Women and Depression  and is the senior author of the Task Force book, Risk Factors and Treatment Issues.  She is the Executive Director of the Psychology Centers in New York City and Laguna Beach, and the Director of Psychological Services for the New York Menopause Center.  Dr. McGrath is on the Medical Faculty of the University of California Irvine Medical School and the University of Rochester School of Medicine. She is Past President of the Division of Psychotherapy and the Division of Media Psychology of the American Psychological Association.  She recently authored The Complete Idiot's Guide to Beating the Blues.

Harry K. WexlerHarry K. Wexler, Ph.D., is a nationally recognized expert on research, technology transfer and policy in the area of mental health and substance abuse treatment in prisons and the community. He has been one of the leaders in prison reform that has led to the acceptance of prison drug treatment in many prisons across the nation. His research that has demonstrated the effectiveness of prison for treatment with aftercare has had great impact on the field and is widely cited as support for expanding prison drug treatment by state and federal policy makers. Dr. Wexler has served as a research consultant for Lindora since 1993 and has studied the effectiveness of the program and the role of motivation. Dr. Wexler serves on the editorial boards of substance abuse and psychological journals and has published numerous articles in scholarly and policy journals. He also serves or has held appointments at major universities, is active in many professional organizations, and makes numerous presentations at national conferences.
